This is the end of the
Alaskan Pipeline. We saw where it left
the ground in Prudhoe Bay, Alaska at the drill site and here we see the
terminal where it is loaded on ships.

Prince William Sound,
These young fishermen
quickly caught their limit during the salmon run. I learned the hard way not to ever interrupt
a fisherman while he in engaged in his sport.
I wanted to get this boy’s picture with his catch and he completely
ignored me until he had caught his limit.
Then he graced me with his presence for a quick snapshot. Though he acted put out he actually came to
find me to have his picture made.
Men!

The
young fisherman’s catch of the day.

When we set up camp the
night before there was a nice cool breeze blowing and absolutely not a single
bug to be found. By morning the breeze was
gone and the biting creatures moved in.
This was the second
campground that I had a meltdown in regarding the biting black flies. The mosquitoes did not bite me, but the flies
made up for it. Every exposed piece of skin
was a target. They even went up my nose
and in my ears. We packed up as quickly as possible but it wasn’t quick
enough. While Ralph finished packing up
his bike, I was screaming about the flies.
I got on my bike and rode around the parking lot in circles waiting for
him to finish. That was the only way I
could keep the bugs off of me.
