The highway is 450 miles
from the cutoff of the Alaskan Highway to Highway 16, the Yellowhead Highway. It was supposed to be 80% paved, but as luck
would have it I think it was more like 40% paved at the time we chose to take
this route. Much of the “paved” sections
were gone and potholes, mud, gravel and washboard had taken its place.
