We liked this campground so much we stayed 3 days and explored the area and the Redwood National Park.  It turned out to be one of our favorite spots.  Unfortunately, the winter brought severe flooding of the Klamath River and about half the campground was swept away into the Pacific Ocean.

It was our extreme good fortune on the first night in camp, that the owners of the campground were having a cookout.  As we ate grilled salmon, chicken and all the fixins, we listened to friends of the owners play their instruments and sing.   A big bonfire was lit and marshmallows were passed out.  We couldn’t have planned it any better if we had tried.

The ocean was about a mile from the campground.  We hiked over the rocks and sand to reach the Pacific Ocean.

I fell in love with the Redwood National Park.  I loved the smell of the forest and the warmth of the rays of sun that fell to the forest floor.  The silence of the forest was only interrupted briefly by the music of the songbirds, their melodies tinkling softly, mingling with the ferns and mosses of their world.
