As evening approached, the
temperature dropped becoming very comfortable.
We decided to ride on in the coolness of the evening desert. The fragrance of sagebrush hung like a light
blanket in the air.

The sky behind us at
sunset dawned a cloak of red, orange and yellow. The eastern sky in front of us changed its
colors to lavender, pale pink and baby blue tinged at the horizon with midnight
blue. Bright dots of starlight appeared
in the eastern sky.

There was rain in the
mountains, but none reached the desert floor.

If this little guy hadn’t
moved I never would have seen him.

We made a special stop to
view an Indian village but were disappointed to find that after the excavation,
vandals hit the village. Thus, the park
service covered the site back up leaving only small markers where the village
was.
