I was so hot and the river
was just too inviting not to take advantage.
On up the road a few miles, several bikers had the same idea, except the
guys left their clothes on the bank of the river. I waved as we rode by.
After getting completely soaked
in the cool river, I put my riding gear back on and was quite invigorated
riding down Highway 12. The wet clothes
and the mountain air kept me plenty cool for miles.

of Nez Perce Indians were slaughtered at this site by the
Poles from the teepees can
be seen in this photo.
Highway 287
The road took us right
down into this valley. With mountains on
both sides of us, the wind was pretty fierce in the valley.
The aroma was lovely.
