Jackson Hole, Wyoming

Mile 18,053

As evening approached the sky grew angry over the Tetons.  Thunder, lightning, high winds and torrential rain poured down on us.  We were glad to get out of the rain in a camper cabin on the south side of Jackson, at Hoback Junction.  Grizzle Bear was not the least bit happy.  He was soaked to the stuffing.

Crazy Horse Monument.  The monument was started over 50 years ago and will probably take another 50 to complete.  The museum at the monument was probably the best museums of Indian artifacts and history I have seen.

This is what the monument should look like upon completion.

The buffalo wander freely through the park.  As a herd crossed the road in front of me, I got just a little queasy and nervous.  One gave me a mean eyeball and drooled as he crossed the road.  I did not have the protection like those in the cars around us that had stopped for pictures.
