Pink Mountain, British Columbia

We stopped at a road house here on this hill and had a great breakfast of bacon and eggs.  This was my first view of the Canadian Rockies on the Alaskan Highway.

Deep glaciated valley north of Pink Mountain around the Prophet River area. One of the many breath taking views along the Alaskan Highway.

Toad River, British Columbia

This is the town of Toad River, all of it.  Most of the towns marked on the map consisted of places such as this one.  They have a gas pump and a place to eat.  Having tried several of the road houses, the food is usually very good.  The road houses are a good place to talk to fellow travelers and bikers.  Here Ralph is passing some time with a trucker.

Kluane Lake, Yukon

Mile 5720

The road ran right around the edge of this beautiful lake.  The road was under some fierce reconstruction. Slick mud and potholes full of water, along with heavy duty machinery were behind me in this photo.
